Our most sustainable products
Being more climate-conscious and aware of the sustainability of the products you are purchasing is more critical than ever, as climate change is advancing and affecting the planet we live on. Do you feel like you are doing the best to be genuinely conscious about recycling, consumerism and environmental changes, but are in doubt of how to implement this onto your beauty shelf? Fear not. At BYBI we create products with the idea that natural, active beauty should impact your skin, NOT your planet.
We do our research from seed to shelf, to make sure that we’re doing the best we can to create truly climate-conscious skincare. All our products are 100% vegan and made from potent natural ingredients. We use either tubes made from sugarcane or glass bottles and jars, so that 98% of our packaging is recyclable (the only unrecyclable component is Mega Mist’s pump, as we’ve yet to find a recyclable version). All our cartons can be recycled, and our delivery boxes are made from grasspaper, a material that uses up to 80% less energy than conventional cardboard. But most importantly, over 50% of our range contains upcycled ingredients to minimise waste. Because great skincare should not come at a cost to our planet. We’re continuing our crusade against carbon emissions and our goal of becoming a carbon negative beauty brand.
Here’s how our products make a difference:
Night Nutrition | over 70% upcycled ingredients
Our restoring protein night cream provides intense nourishment whilst you sleep, leaving your skin soft with a healthy glowing complexion. It contains over 70% upcycled ingredients including clementine water, which is a by-product of the juicing industry. Night Nutrition also comes with a cute spatula for hygienic application, which is made from sustainably grown biodegradable bamboo.
Like a smoothie for your skin, Night Nutrition is rich in vitamins and powerful antioxidants such as broccoli seed oil, which is rich in vitamin A (nature’s answer to retinol, which is just WOW!), Omega-9 and Omega-3 fatty acids, which help nourish, soften and protect the skin. It also contains mango seed butter and oat kernel oil, both rich in lipids and ceramides, they help prevent water loss and lock in moisture. For an ultra repairing finish, raspberry seed oil and a superfood protein blend of kale, lemon and carrot, helps strengthen and protect skin, due to their high concentration of antioxidants and vitamins A, E & C.
Night Nutrition is housed in our beautiful, hot pink glass jar (gorgeous enough to make your other products envious) and can be ReBYBI'ed when empty.
C-Caf Cream | over 50% upcycled ingredients
C-Caf Cream lives in a beautiful light green, sustainable sugarcane tube, providing a colourful twist for your shelfies. It’s a lightweight day moisturiser containing vitamin C, caffeine and matcha for perky, morning-bright, refreshed skin. C-Caf Cream contains a double vitamin C formula from both kakadu plum and ascorbyl glucoside, which helps improve the look of hyperpigmentation and leaves dull skin visibly brighter with use. Skin will also feel hydrated and soft from a buttery combination of shea, glycerin and squalane (what’s not to love?) that glides right onto the skin. The regenerating matcha extract helps repair skin from environmental aggressors such as pollution and UV rays.
Tip: C-Caf Cream is potent AF. We recommend only using a pea-size amount. Mix with one of our Boosters for added benefits. Always wear SPF on top.
Day Defence SPF 30 Moisturiser | reef safe
Our newest addition to the BYBI range is our Day Defence SPF 30 moisturiser. Formulated to apply every day, regardless of weather, it helps protect skin from sun damage and leaves skin soft and hydrated. Day Defence is non-comedogenic and suitable for all skin feels, meaning that it won’t clog your pores.
The SPF filter in Day Defence is made from non-nano zinc oxide, an effective mineral filter against UVA & UVB rays. UVA rays cause ageing, worsen pigmentation and can stress skin, whilst UVB can cause the skin to burn. Zinc oxide is reef safe and won’t negatively impact aquatic life, protecting both our skin and our oceans.
Day Defence also contains buriti, a natural SPF booster to help support and repair the skin with its high contents of vitamin A and E. Being the most abundant natural source of the antioxidant beta-carotene, it helps fight free radical damage.
Tip: We recommend using SPF all day, every day regardless of the weather, as sun damage is caused by UV (light), not heat. Apply half a teaspoon to your face and neck.
Acid Gold | upcycled pumpkin enzyme
Acid Gold is a banging product from the inside out, our AHA resurfacing face mask leaves skin soft, glowing and regenerated. It works its magic with natural AHAs that help remove dull, dead skin cells and improve skin tone and texture. But it also contains upcycled pumpkin enzyme, extracted from pumpkin flesh that is a by-product of the pumpkin seed industry. This unique natural enzyme gently exfoliates, enhancing cell renewal and replenishing skin firmness, texture and bounce.
AHAs (alpha-hydroxy acids) including lactic, glycolic, malic and tartaric acids exfoliate and replenishing skin by ‘dissolving’ the glue that binds dead skin cells together. They help leave skin super soft and smooth, whilst papain enzyme reduces bacteria in the skin, helping prevent breakouts and blemishes.
Acid Gold looks as good as it sounds, its bright orange in colour and smells like a hot summer vacation for the perfect masking selfie. We recommend using it 1-2 times a week, for an everyday picture-perfect canvas! When empty, the glass jar can be ReBYBI'ed.
Blueberry & Strawberry Boosters | 100% upcycled ingredients
If you’d like your products to be a real sustainability fairytale, we’d say go for our Blueberry and Strawberry Boosters. Both are created from 100% upcycled ingredients, meaning that they are created using by-products that would otherwise have gone to waste. In this case, both use seeds from the juicing industry, which are removed prior to juicing, cleaned and then cold-pressed to order using a low-carbon process.
The Blueberry Booster is a natural blue light shield, protecting skin from blue light transmitted by your electronic devices and the sun (you’d be surprised how lousy blue light actually is for your skin!). Blue light can not only weaken, irritate or discolour skin, but can also speed up the ageing process. Blueberry seed oil is rich in oleic fatty acids, providing nourishment and helping lock in moisture. It leaves your skin soft, smooth and balanced, helping prevent damage, sagging and uneven texture. Use either alone or mix a few drops with your normal moisturiser. This Booster is created in-house using manual machinery, so it doesn't use any energy to create at all.
Tip: Blueberry Booster does not protect against sun rays why we always recommend wearing an SPF on top. Do not mix Boosters with your SPF.
Bonus tip: To minimise exposure of blue light, you can adjust the hue of your screen light towards a slightly warmer tone.
Our Strawberry Booster is excellent for dry, flaky and irritated skin. Containing Omega-6 and Omega-3, it delivers an exceptional level of moisture and absorbs quickly, leaving your skin softened and nourished. It’s also rich in ellagic acid, a great antioxidant that helps repair skin.

Sugarcane tubes
Ready to be wowed? Our tubes that house products such as C-Caf Cream and Babe Balm are made from sugarcane polyethylene, a durable bioplastic and carbon neutral material. It’s a product of upcycling, using sugarcane that normally would be discarded, having been crushed to make sugar juice for human consumption. It’s fossil-fuel free and recyclable! What’s not to love?
Glass jars
We use glass for products such as Bakuchiol Booster and Mega Mist, where sugarcane isn’t possible, and we're switching to using recycled glass because the carbon footprint is significantly reduced. We print directly onto our bottles and jars using biodegradable plant-based inks that don't interfere with the recycling process, reducing the use of single use sticky labels, so you can simply wash clean and pop in your recycling. If you want to increase the sustainability of your empties, you can return all our glass packaging to be recycled and used again with ReBYBI.
Grasspaper boxes
If you order from bybi.com, you’ll receive your package in one of our grasspaper boxes. They take up to 80% less energy to produce than conventional wood pulp paper. It’s made from the pulp of grass rather than wood and saves approximately 4.8 tonnes of carbon per tonne produced. Plus, there’s huge water savings too, grasspaper needs just 1 litre of water for every tonne produced vs. 6,000 litres for conventional wood pulp AND it can be recycled too!
