The Climate Crisis is a Racist Crisis
There is no climate justice without racial justice. People of colour disproportionately bear the impacts of climate change, not just from storms & heatwaves, pollution & proximity to fossil fuel plants, but also because of how society reacts to climate disasters. It is an undeniable fact that those who contribute the LEAST to the climate emergency, are affected the most.
When we talk about the climate crisis, we must talk about it as a human rights crisis. It is our job to understand the links between structural, systemic racism, socio-economic inequality and climate change.
